Ahlam Ait EI Maati has a law degree from the Catholic University of Leuven, after completing a bilingual course (Dutch-French), in collaboration with the Facultés Universitaires Saint-Louis (Brussels).

In 2015, she also obtained a postgraduate degree in criminology, after a complementary study at the University of Ghent.

She is a member of the Brussels Bar since 2015.

Her practise focuses on personal and family law, as well as criminal law.

Ahlam is fluent in Dutch, French, English, Arabic and Berber.
